Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m May. I’m a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who works with adults experiencing a variety of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, PTSD, stress, and challenges that can come with chronic health conditions.

I believe taking care of your mental health is an important act of self-respect and self-preservation. Seeking support can sometimes feel overwhelming, and my goal is to provide a space where you can speak openly about what you’re experiencing without fear of judgment.

My style is warm, straightforward, and practical. I value getting to know you as a whole person—not simply focusing on a diagnosis or symptoms. I also recognize that your culture, identity, relationships, physical health, and life experiences can influence your mental well-being. Together, we’ll focus on creating a realistic treatment plan that fits your life and helps you make meaningful, sustainable progress.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is collaborative, open-minded, holistic, and solution-focused. I want you to understand your treatment options and feel that you have an active voice in the decisions we make about your care.

I combine evidence-based medication management with supportive therapeutic approaches when appropriate. This may include Motivational Interviewing, cognitive behavioral strategies, Behavioral Activation, and practical tools to help you better understand what you’re experiencing, strengthen coping skills, and move toward your goals.

I believe treatment works best when it is realistic and fits into your everyday life. Rather than overcomplicating the process, we’ll identify what is most important to you and develop clear, achievable next steps. As treatment progresses, we’ll continue evaluating what is working, what may need to change, and how we can support meaningful improvement while prioritizing your safety and overall well-being.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is an opportunity for me to understand what brought you to care, what you’ve been experiencing, and what you would like to change or improve. You’ll have space to share your concerns in a straightforward, non-judgmental environment where you can feel heard and ask questions about your care.

I’ll complete a comprehensive psychiatric assessment, learn more about your mental and physical health history, discuss your current symptoms and concerns, and explore your goals for treatment. We’ll review treatment options together, including medication when appropriate, and talk through the potential benefits, risks, and next steps so that you feel informed and involved in the process.

By the end of our initial visit, my goal is for us to have a clear and realistic plan that prioritizes safety, effectiveness, and goals that feel achievable for you. During follow-up visits, we’ll monitor your progress, make adjustments when needed, and continue building practical strategies that support your mental health and help you move toward the life you want to live.
