Great to meet you!

Welcome! My name is Dr. Maya Akinfosile and I am a licensed clinical psychologist in Ohio. I specialize in working with college students, young adults and adults who struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, navigating identity-related issues and career development.

My approach to therapy

I aim to never take for granted how much of a privilege it is to have clients share their stories and experiences with me. I help clients by prioritizing safety, authenticity and the therapeutic relationship as the basis of all of my work. As a relational therapist, I wholeheartedly believe that working through and overcoming challenges is only possible in an empowering, honest and empathic environment.

What you can expect from me

In our first few sessions, clients can expect to explore current concerns, upbringing, relational and behavioral patterns and treatment goals. Throughout our work together, we will collaborate and utilize a strengths-based, affirming approach that also gently challenges and offers alternative perspectives about current functioning to help clients develop greater insight and achieve their goals.
