Great to meet you!

I'm Maya Nelson, a licensed mental health counselor in Florida specializing in trauma and anxiety for BIPOC, and queer people. I use trauma-focused CBT, DBT, and IFS to support healing and resilience. Beyond therapy, I advocate for mental health on social media, making resources accessible to all.

My approach to therapy

I support Black women, people of color, and LGBTQ+ individuals navigating anxiety, trauma, and life transitions. Using CBT, DBT, and multicultural frameworks, I address both personal and systemic challenges. Progress is measured through boundary-setting, self-compassion, and personal empowerment. My approach is collaborative, affirming, and deeply empathetic.

What you can expect from me

In sessions, you'll find a warm, supportive space to share your story at your own pace. We'll explore your background, current challenges, and therapy goals while using CBT, DBT, and IFS techniques. Together, we’ll identify coping strategies that work for you, building trust and a strong foundation for growth. My goal is to ensure you feel seen, heard, and empowered in your healing journey.
