My name is Maya (they/them) and I specialize in understanding the overlapping worlds of queer, neurodivergent, and disabled folks. My approach to treatment involves the use of direct, solution-focused, and strengths-based therapies. This allows you to prioritize your most pressing issues, and stabilize your life.
In 2015, I started my training in skilled caregiving, working with disabled children and adults as a direct support professional. I transitioned into the clinical mental health sphere in 2023 after the completion of my graduate program. I have built a firm therapeutic foundation that is centered on increasing emotional regulation and executive function skills within the context of disability acceptance and liberation. I graduated from Truman State University with a BS in Psychology during the COVID-19 pandemic, and completed my MSW at the Brown School of Social Work at Washington University in Saint Louis. I have first-hand experience of the impact that the pandemic has had on current young adults' life trajectories and mental health.
