Great to meet you!

Hi! I'm Meg, I'm a Colorado kid, and I have a Master's in Social Work from my "study abroad" experience in Pittsburgh! My social work perspective shapes how I see everything through a systemic lens and allows me to acknowledge the multitudes of oppression most people face. I'm neurodivergent myself and have struggled with several chronic health conditions so I love working with people I can share relevant experiences and lessons with - I'm a classic older sister hoping you can learn from my mistakes! I'm also a member of the Alphabet Community and love working with my fellow qu33rs. I'm sex-positive and accepting of all things besides hate.

My approach to therapy

I incorporate warmth and humor into my sessions and use a trauma-informed and nervous-system centered approach to therapy. I love making connections between people's past experiences and patterns and fully validate the body's survival responses while also collaborating on practical mindfulness-based coping skills to help alleviate symptoms. I'm also Enneagram certified for more in-depth motivational pattern analysis if that's of interest to you. I specialize in working with tweens and teens (and adults' inner-tweens and teens) to nip maladaptive coping mechanisms in the bud, in addition to finding emotional/nervous system causes for chronic pain, navigating spiritual re-orientations/religious trauma, and exploring identities/building self esteem.

What you can expect from me

I like to do a thorough intake so that I know more about your background to start building theories about potential causes and effects and resulting patterns. I'm very welcoming and we do things at your pace - I greatly value the importance of autonomy in what you disclose when and how you want to approach treatment. During our first few sessions we'll get to know each other better and collaborate on treatment goals and what would be helpful to do during our time together. I also know that finding a good therapist is similar to dating - if I'm not the right fit for you I take no offense and hope you can find someone who is a better match for you!
