I am a licensed professional clinical counselor with supervisor designation (LPCC-S) with a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from John Carroll University. Before counseling, I was a teacher. I am authentic with my clients and feel that counseling does not need to feel cold or clinical. I am an EMDRIA trained EMDR therapist.
My approach to therapy includes meeting the client where they are. I believe the most important part of therapy is feeling comfortable with your therapist since there is a lot of vulnerability in talking about difficult aspects of our lives.
I infuse a variety of different techniques into my sessions based on client's interests and needs. I use both empathy and humor to help my client's feel comfortable. I will also be direct with clients and confront them when it is appropriate and helpful.
