Great to meet you!

Before becoming a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I spent nearly 10 years as a bedside registered nurse, primarily in women’s health and high-risk labor and delivery. Throughout my years in L&D, I cared for patients during some of the most vulnerable and life-changing moments of their lives. I also saw firsthand how closely physical health, hormonal changes, major life transitions, and mental health can intersect.

Those experiences shaped the way I approach psychiatric care today. I believe mental health treatment should look at the whole person—not simply a diagnosis or a list of symptoms. My goal is to create a comfortable, judgment-free environment where you feel heard, understood, and actively involved in your treatment. Whether you are navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood changes, major life transitions, or simply feeling like you haven't been yourself lately, I want to work alongside you to find a treatment plan that helps you feel your best and better equipped to handle all that life brings.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is collaborative, individualized, and focused on treating the whole person. I combine evidence-based medication management with supportive psychotherapy, motivational interviewing, psychoeducation, and techniques informed by cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution-focused therapy.

During our sessions, this may look like identifying patterns between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, developing practical coping strategies, working through barriers to change or medication adherence, setting achievable goals, and helping you better understand your symptoms and treatment options. I also use a trauma-informed approach and recognize the important roles that sleep, relationships, stress, physical health, hormones, lifestyle, and major life transitions can have on mental health.

My experience as a nurse has taught me the importance of listening carefully, meeting people where they are, and helping patients feel comfortable during vulnerable moments. Rather than simply telling you what I think you should do, I want us to make treatment decisions together. My goal is to combine medication management and therapeutic support in a way that helps you not only experience fewer symptoms, but also function better and feel more like yourself.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for me to get to know you beyond just your symptoms. We’ll talk about what brought you in, what you’ve been experiencing, your medical and mental health history, current medications, relationships and support system, lifestyle, and any previous treatments or experiences that may be important to your care.

I want you to feel comfortable sharing your concerns and asking questions, so we’ll also spend time discussing what you hope to get out of treatment and what feeling better looks like for you. From there, we’ll work together to develop an individualized treatment plan, which may include medication, therapeutic strategies, lifestyle recommendations, or a combination of approaches.

You can expect our first visit to feel like a conversation rather than an interrogation. My goal is for you to leave with a better understanding of what may be contributing to how you’re feeling, a clear plan for moving forward, and confidence that your concerns have been heard and taken seriously.
