Great to meet you!

Hi! I'm Megan, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) with a passion for guiding individuals toward emotional healing and personal growth. I utilize a trauma-informed lens to create a safe and supportive space for you to explore and overcome life’s challenges. I received my Bachelors degree in Psychology from University of Illinois at Springfield and received my Masters in Counseling Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. In my experience, I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults and have extensive experience working in a crisis setting and providing crisis counseling to individuals. I have worked in outpatient, residential, and community mental health settings.

My approach to therapy

I draw from humanistic, trauma-informed, and existential approaches to create a compassionate, collaborative therapy process. We'll focus on your strengths and growth, ensure safety and empowerment, and explore meaning and identity. In session, you'll find a supportive, judgment-free space to explore, gain insights, and build tools for navigating challenges with clarity and resilience. I also welcome clients to use creative expression in session.

What you can expect from me

In a first session with me, clients can expect a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental space where they can begin to feel comfortable being themselves. I understand that starting therapy can feel intimidating, so we move at a pace that feels right for you.

In the first session, we’ll spend time getting to know one another and focusing on what brings you to therapy. We’ll review your goals, go over relevant background information and history, and talk about what you’d like to gain from therapy. I’ll also explain what the therapy process typically looks like and how we might work together moving forward.

This session is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have and to get a sense of whether this feels like a good fit.
