Great to meet you!

I’ve been a clinical therapist for over 22 years and have always been deeply interested in people and their stories. I’m an avid reader, a former theater kid, and I studied creative writing before becoming a clinical social worker. I chose this field because I value understanding how environment, context, and lived experience shape us—not just pathology.

As a recovered perfectionist, I especially enjoy working with people who feel stressed while juggling multiple roles, responsibilities, and relationships. My work is grounded in a trauma-informed, Health at Every Size, and culturally humble approach.

Our work together will be values-based. We’ll explore what matters most to you and whether your current patterns are moving you toward or away from those values. I draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), EFT, EMDR, DBT, and other third-wave and somatic approaches to tailor therapy to your needs.

My approach to therapy

I’m a relational therapist at heart, and our first sessions will focus on getting to know you—your strengths, your story, and what brought you to therapy. I often describe therapy as cleaning a room: we sort through what to keep, what can be repurposed, and what you’re ready to let go of. This process can feel messier before things become clearer and more organized, and we’ll move through it together at your pace.

Between sessions, I may invite you to notice patterns in your daily life or practice coping skills that support your growth.

I especially enjoy working with clients navigating transitions, such as major life-stage changes (graduating from high school or college, marriage, menopause, becoming an empty nester), building self-acceptance (body image, self-esteem, sexuality), and moving through grief (loss of a loved one or the end of a relationship).

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect a warm, authentic, and collaborative space where they feel safe to show up as themselves. I bring my genuine self into the therapy room and create space for you to do the same.

With over 22 years of training and experience, I use approaches such as EFT (tapping), EMDR, ACT, DBT, and mindfulness to help shift the ways your mind and body respond—often automatically—to stress. This work can lead to meaningful changes in how you cope, relate, and move through life.

I also have specialized training in treating anxiety influenced by social media and the 24-hour news cycle. While technology can increase connection, it can also intensify anxiety and feelings of not measuring up.

Together, we’ll work to help you feel less stuck, build the ability to sit with and understand your emotions, and navigate the obstacles that stand between you and the life you want.
