Great to meet you!

I'm Megan, a licensed clinical social worker. And my approach to therapy is warm, genuine, down to Earth and often sprinkled with humor. I believe some of the best therapeutic work happens when you feel comfortable enough to show up exactly as you are - messy thoughts, complicated emotions, bad days, dark humor and all. I work with people navigating anxiety, emotional regulations, stress, life transitions, relationship challenges, feeling overwhelmed in those moments when you know something needs to change but aren't quite sure where to begin. I'm also neurodivergent, and understand that traditional expectations around productivity, organization, communication, emotion regulation don't always fit into the way every brain works. I value helping clients better understand themselves rather than making them feel like they need to fit into someone else's definition of "normal". Outside of being a therapist, I'm a wife, a busy mom and animal person through and through. Much of my life outside of work is spent caring for my horses and other animals working around our little farm and trying to balance all the responsibilities that come with real life. Those experiences have shaped the therapist I am: Practical compassionate imperfect and deeply appreciative of how much people can carry while still keeping everything moving.

My approach to therapy

My approach is eclectic and individualized, meaning I don't believe therapy should look the same for everyone. We'll pull from different therapeutic approaches and practical coping strategies based on what actually works for you. These include; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness-based techniques, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy, among others.

What you can expect from me

You won't find judgment or expectations of perfection in my therapy room. You'll find a place where we can be curious about what's underneath the surface, identify patterns that may no longer be serving you, build practical tools for everyday life and occasionally laugh when life gets ridiculous. You don't have to have everything figured out before starting therapy, we can figure out where to begin together.
