Great to meet you!

Megan received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in August 2018 while playing college softball at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, TX. Her interest in pursuing counseling was sparked by her own childhood experiences, which taught her to work through life’s challenges. She completed her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in August 2022 from Tarleton State University in Fort Worth, TX. Her emphasis was on a Play Therapy program accredited by CACREP. Megan also was a nanny for 13 years for children of varying ages and cultures.

My approach to therapy

My areas of interest are Children and adolescent issues, teens, pre-teens, and adults. As well as Anxiety & Depression, Trauma, Parenting and Family Issues, ADHD, and School/Daycare issues. I have had the opportunity to work with children up to adults presenting concerns, such as Trauma, Depression, Anxiety, Parent/Child Relationship issues, Codependency, and Externalizing behaviors preventing people from integrating into school/work settings. Additionally, I have worked with autistic and on-the-spectrum adolescents, pre-teens, and adults.

I use both directive and non-directive therapy, and a blend of CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and person-centered therapy. The most important part of the counseling process for me is the therapeutic relationship. My goal is to provide you with a safe, non-judgmental environment in which you can be open and vulnerable, offering a personalized approach to each person’s unique needs. It’s your space to utilize in your healing process.

What you can expect from me

In a first session with me, you can expect a calm, supportive space where we focus on getting to know you and what you’re hoping will change.

  • A warm check-in: what brought you in now, and what feels hardest lately
  • Your goals: what you want therapy to help with (and what “better” would look like)
  • Background that matters: relationships, school/work, stressors, strengths, and what’s worked before
  • Questions + preferences: what you’ve tried, what you’re comfortable with, and what you don’t want
  • How therapy works with me: my style, what sessions typically look like, and how we’ll measure progress
  • Logistics + boundaries: confidentiality, limits to privacy, scheduling, communication, and fees/insurance basics
  • A starting plan: 1–3 focus areas and a few practical tools or next steps you can try right away

You don’t need to have the “right words.” You can share as much or as little as you’re ready for, and we’ll go at your pace.
