Great to meet you!

Dr. Megan Schmitz specializes in treating Anxiety Disorders. She co-developed and programmed the Adolescent Anxiety Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Program at Linden Oaks Hospital, which received disease-specific certification. In private practice, Dr. Schmitz created The Intensive Anxiety Clinic - an intermediate level of care meant to bridge the gap between traditional individual therapy and hospital-based programming (to inquire further visit website: www.VitalLivingWS.com).

My approach to therapy

Dr. Schmitz is a Third-Wave Contextual Behavioral Therapist who utilizes evidence-based Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), in addition to Exposure and Behavior Activation. Validation of experience is paired with weekly treatment goals in order to challenge discomfort, increase tolerance and connect with values.

What you can expect from me

Therapeutic goals are to provide you - the client - with concrete skills to manage distress, to move towards acceptance of internal experience, and to increase personal accountability for choices while exerting more purposeful control over behavior. The ultimate goal is to improve both daily functioning as well as contact with a full, meaningful life. . . THE LIFE YOU DESERVE!!
