
Dr. Downey is a supervising clinical psychologist in private practice. She treats adolescents and adults who experience a variety of mood, inter- and intra- personal challenges. Her other roles include training, supervision and consultation with pre-licensed clinicians.
Dr. Downey approaches psychotherapy through integrating principles of psychodynamic and relational psychology. She carries advanced training in EMDR, clinical hypnosis, mindfulness-based interventions, and perinatal mental health. Her areas of expertise include relationship challenges, anxiety, psychosis, women’s health, kink, and trauma. With her extensive experience and training, Dr. Downey’s eclectic approach supports clients improve their quality of life and alleviate suffering.
Dr. Downey's approach is warm, curious, and genuine. She believes everyone’s path to healing is unique and care should be individualized as a reflection of that. She works collaboratively with each individual to co-create a relationship that is safe, attuned, and reflective. Dr. Downey provides the platform for her client's to recalibrate their lives so they are living in accordance to their values with meaning and purpose.
