Great to meet you!

Looking forward to meeting you!

Hello, I am Meghan Howie-Timmel, LCSW. I received my MSW degree at Hunter Silberman School of Social Work in New York City. I worked for 25 years at a major medical center in Chicago.

I have focused my tele-health practice with adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and health concerns. My counseling style is affirming and non-judgmental. I have a sense of wonder and respect for the unique nature of each person who comes to therapy.

My approach to therapy

A little bit about how I approach therapy

I employ Person-Centered, Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Motivational Interviewing and Strengths Based Therapies. I believe that mental health is enhanced by the creative arts, music, movement, meditation, nature, quality sleep, and nutrition.

If you are feeling sad, confused, or stressed about where your life is going, therapy can provide you with a focus and tools to make positive change happen. Sharing your story is therapeutic too!

What you can expect from me

Welcome to Therapy

Your step to begin therapy is an important one and not easy to take. I feel it is the most important gift to give yourself. If you are ready for a change, I am here for you.

My goal, as your therapist, is to listen and promote safety and trust as we get to know one another. Together, we will work to address the goals you set for yourself. Taking small steps will create positive change in your life. My hope is for you to find more pleasure, peace and joy during this exploration.
