Great to meet you!

Welcome! My name is Meghan McKenna and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing in Connecticut. I earned a B.A. in Psychology from Southern Connecticut State University and a Master's Degree in Social Work with a focus on clinical work from University of Saint Joseph. I have experience in various clinical outpatient settings and public schools and have served a variety of age groups. I provide therapy to adult individuals who may be navigating a variety of challenges, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, life transitions, stress and attachment challenges.

My approach to therapy

Whether this is your first time seeking therapy or you’ve had previous experience, finding a therapist you feel comfortable, connected, and safe with is an important part of the process. My approach is collaborative, conversational, and grounded in authenticity — I want you to feel like you’re talking with a real person, not a wall or a robot. I believe therapy works best when your unique experiences, identity, and personal story are honored. I view you as the expert of your own life and experiences, which shape how you move through and understand the world around you. Together, we can explore challenges and unhelpful patterns, build resilience, and support meaningful growth toward a more balanced and fulfilling life.

What you can expect from me

During your initial session, we’ll focus on getting to know you and what brings you to therapy. You’ll have the opportunity to share your concerns, goals, and any relevant background information at a pace that feels comfortable. We’ll also review important information such as confidentiality, policies, and answer any questions you may have. This is a great opportunity to see if we would be a good fit for ongoing treatment sessions. These sessions last about 60 minutes/1 hour.
