Great to meet you!

Same Week and Weekend Appointments Available!

I’m a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). While I’m proud of my education and experience, titles aren’t what’s important to me. What matters is helping you feel better, helping you move forward, and supporting you in becoming the best version of yourself. I also have an extensive military background and served in the U.S. Army as both a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter pilot and a fixed-wing RC-12 pilot. My military experience taught me the importance of preparation, communication, teamwork, and staying calm when things get complicated. My style is informal, relaxed, and judgment-free. You don’t need to have everything figured out or know exactly what to say when we meet. Just show up as you are. I’ll meet you where you are mentally, and we’ll work together from there.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative, practical, and centered around you. I don’t believe in simply telling you what you should do. I believe you should understand your options and have a voice in your treatment. I’ll explain different treatment options, answer your questions, and help you understand the potential benefits and downsides of different approaches. My goal is to empower you with information so we can make decisions together. I believe our appointments should have structure and purpose without feeling overly formal. We’ll focus on what matters most to you, identify the areas that are having the biggest impact on your life, and work together to develop a plan. As we continue working together, we’ll refine that plan based on how you’re doing, what’s working, and what needs to change. Mental health treatment isn’t one-size-fits-all, and your care should evolve with you.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is about getting to know each other, understanding what brought you in, and figuring out where we should start. We’ll begin with introductions and an overview of what we’ll be doing during the appointment and what we’re hoping to accomplish together. I’ll then spend time getting to know you through an interview and learning about your concerns, experiences, goals, and what you would like help with. From there, we’ll identify the 2–3 things that are most important for us to prioritize. We’ll use those priorities to develop a treatment plan together that makes sense for you. You should leave our first session with a clear understanding of what we’re working on, what your options are, and what our next steps will be. Future appointments are about checking in, seeing how things are going, and refining our approach. We’ll adjust the plan as needed based on your progress, your goals, and what you feel is working best for you.
