Great to meet you!

I'm MeKeal Diamond, a Licensed Professional Counselor passionate about helping adolescents and adults navigate life's challenges with confidence, resilience, and practical tools for lasting change. I believe therapy should be a place where you can show up as you are, without judgment, pressure, or the expectation that you already have everything figured out.

I earned my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of West Alabama and am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology. My clinical experience includes working with individuals facing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, anger, men's issues, relationship concerns, low self-esteem, emotional regulation difficulties, and major life transitions.

Clients often describe me as calm, approachable, and easy to talk to. I strive to create a space where honest conversations lead to meaningful insight, healthier coping strategies, and real progress. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply ready for something to change, I'm committed to walking alongside you every step of the way.

My approach to therapy

I believe every person has strengths, even if they don't feel that way when they first walk through the door. My role isn't to tell you what to do, it's to help you better understand yourself, identify what's keeping you stuck, and develop practical skills that help you move forward.

My approach is collaborative, supportive, and goal-oriented. I integrate evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), mindfulness-based interventions, and strengths-based approaches, tailoring treatment to your unique needs rather than using a one-size-fits-all method.

Whether we're working through trauma, managing anxiety, improving relationships, processing grief, or strengthening emotional regulation, my goal is to help you build insight, increase resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change that extends beyond our sessions.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is about getting to know you, not judging you.

We'll spend time discussing what brought you to therapy, the challenges you're currently facing, and what you hope will be different moving forward. I'll ask questions about your history, relationships, and strengths so I can understand the full picture, but we'll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

Together, we'll identify meaningful goals and begin developing a treatment plan that fits your needs. My goal is for you to leave your first session feeling heard, understood, and hopeful—with a clearer understanding of where we're headed and practical next steps to begin creating positive change.
