Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Mel Joy, a healer with 25+ years of experience witnessing how resilient people can be. We all experience ebbs & flows of transitions and struggles, while constantly evolving. Life can be both beautiful & messy, and I'm humbled and honored to help you sort through it in individual and/or group therapy. Our minds & emotions uniquely shape our perception of reality. No two people have the same experience, and there is no such thing as a "one size fits all" treatment modality. No matter how different we may be, one thing we all share is the capacity for joy & pain, and everything in between.

My approach to therapy

With curiosity & compassion, we'll explore your conscious & subconscious beliefs re: yourself and the world while challenging your approach to change. Your higher self is calling you to heal your wounds & trauma with self-love & radical acceptance. Please review my toolbox of therapy types; Google them if you are interested. Expressive Arts Therapy too!

Jungian (Carl Jung) introduced the concept of the "shadow," the collection of qualities we don't like, deem unacceptable, or actively suppress about ourselves. Through "shadow work," Jungian alchemy calls us to see life as a transformative journey, inviting us to alchemize harmony between the shadow and what is brought to the light.

My style is conversational, and I work well with those who are open to direct feedback. I seek to validate and make sense of why you think and feel the way you do. We will embrace your challenges without judgment or criticism until we understand the root cause. Do you want to break patterns that do not serve you? You're not alone. We've got this!

What you can expect from me

I offer sessions to individuals who identify as women, are at least 18 years of age, and reside in New York State. I primarily work with women with ADHD and also welcome ALL neurotypes who want to incorporate spirituality & shadow work into therapy.

PLEASE SCHEDULE A FREE 15-MINUTE CONSULTATION BEFORE scheduling a 60-minute session. Bring your questions and key points you'd like me to know about, and we will see if we are a good fit to work together.

If we decide we are a good fit, you may have a list of topics to bring to our first session, or you may prefer to let the conversation flow (stream of consciousness), revealing what's important to you. There is no right or wrong way to approach sessions. Most importantly, I strive to meet you where you are during each session. We will interconnect your past, present, & future. Let's do this thing together!
