Great to meet you!

In addition to private therapy, I worked in public mental health for eight years. I am experienced in providing support to people with mental health needs ranging from mild anxiety to deep psychosis. The treatment I provide ranges from simple breathing exercises to safety plans to prevent suicide. I specialize in trauma recovery. My goal as your therapist is to guide you to increase the joy and connection you feel in your daily life; to assist you in living a life that feels more healthy.

A bit about my approach to therapy

The first several sessions will be building rapport and getting to know you. Connection and attunement between the clinician and client are needed for treatment to be most effective. I use a biopsychosocial-spiritual approach to understand how your psychological beliefs, social experiences, physical health, and spiritual beliefs are each related to the mental health symptoms you are experiencing. We will explore each of these domains in relation to your past, present, and future/ideal health.

What you can expect from our first session

Initial and ongoing assessments to track symptoms. Biopsychosocial-spiritual intake and treatment plan. Therapeutic activities to complete between sessions. Emphasis on creating healthy habits. Recommended reading. Sessions typically end in chair yoga, or guided meditation because calming the body, calms the mind.
