Melanie Barton

Dr. Melanie Barton has a master’s degree in social work and a doctorate in pastoral counseling and community development. She has maintained a private holistic psychotherapy practice since 1985. She is a Reiki and Rife practitioner. She has taught at the college level, led multiple workshops, and consulted with organizations. I believe each client wants to live their best life but circumstances may have prevented it until they enter therapy. Once they learn the reason they do behaviors and become aware of how the pattern develops they can make healthier choices to alter the pattern and to respond rather than react to situations.

I take a history and help them vocalize and formulate what their goals are for therapy. I do not judge. I offer hope that no matter what they have experienced therapy can have a positive outcome. I believe in giving homework. I use traditional therapeutive methods along with holistic ones
