Great to meet you!

I'm Melanie, a licensed mental health counselor and certified perinatal mental health specialist (PMH-C) based in Massachusetts. I've spent nearly a decade working with adults navigating some of life's greatest challenges. I primarily work with individuals who are experiencing pregnancy mood changes, postpartum depression and anxiety, pregnancy loss, or parenting infants and toddlers. I'm virtual-only and in-network with most major insurance plans, which means getting started is usually more accessible than people expect. I'm direct, warm, and down to earth.

My approach to therapy

My approach is relational and attachment-focused at its core — I care a lot about what happens between us in the room, not just the techniques I use. I draw from psychodynamic, emotionally focused, expressive arts, and CBT frameworks depending on what actually fits the person in front of me. I don't believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. I believe in slowing down enough to understand what you actually need — and then working toward it together. Sessions feel like a real conversation, not a checklist.

What you can expect from me

Expect to talk — and to be heard without a clipboard in my face. The first session is about getting oriented: what's bringing you in, what's felt heavy, and what you're hoping changes. I'll ask questions, share some thoughts, and we'll feel out together whether the fit is right. There's no pressure to commit on the spot. If you are not sure it'll work for you, those are actually great things to bring into the first session.
