Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Melanie Velasquez, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor based in Florida with a passion for supporting adolescents and young adults. I earned my Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling at Barry University and have experience providing therapy in both school-based and private practice settings.

Throughout my career, I’ve worked closely with teens and young adults navigating depression, anxiety, life challenges and transitions, identity development, and relationship struggles. I’m bilingual in English and Spanish, which allows me to offer culturally responsive care to a wider range of clients.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and empowering. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation for meaningful change, and I strive to create a space where clients feel safe, respected, and truly heard.

I tailor my work to each individual, drawing from evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and strengths-based techniques to help clients gain insight, develop coping skills, and make lasting change.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect a supportive and nonjudgmental space to explore their thoughts, emotions, and goals. Together, we’ll work toward greater self-awareness, emotional resilience, and practical tools to manage life’s challenges with more clarity and confidence.
