Melissa Buesing

Her educational backgrounds include achieving her B.A in Psychology from Texas Woman's University and an M.A. from Dallas Baptist University. Her therapeutic approach in strongly rooted in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, focusing on how thoughts drive feelings and behavior.

She has worked in a diverse of settings including private practice, inpatient, community mental health, and outpatient.

Depending on the modality I work out of, I do assign homework or give handouts, provide other resources to clients such as podcasts, books, etc. I frequently do check ins with my clients to determine if progress is being made or if we need to make adjustment. I am always flexible and willing to accommodate to my client’s needs and circumstances. My style is direct and respectful with the strategies to finding the most effective way to deal with life’s challenges.

My clients can expect from me as a therapist on very first session is how easy it is to talk to me. How relatable I am in my sessions. How supportive and validating therapy can be.
