Great to meet you!

Welcome — I'm so glad you're here. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or weighed down by past experiences or relationship struggles, you’re not alone. I help children (4-11 years old), individuals, and couples heal from trauma, navigate grief and loss, and build stronger, more connected relationships. Together, we’ll create a space where you feel safe, supported, and empowered to move forward.

I’m Melissa, a Licensed Professional Counselor with advanced training in trauma therapies, including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Conjoint EMDR for couples, and Attachment-Focused Trauma Therapy for Adults (AFTT-A). I also use tools like play therapy, sand play, the Gottman Method (Levels 1–3), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to guide healing at every stage of life. I hold a master’s degree in counseling from Denver Seminary and bring both clinical expertise and deep compassion to my work.

Whether you're navigating the impact of trauma, coping with loss, or working to strengthen your relationships, you don’t have to do it alone. My practice offers a warm, non-judgmental space where your story is honored, your strengths are recognized, and meaningful change is possible.

*I take insurance for individuals only. Couples and Families would be private pay, and I can offer a superbill for the client to submit for reimbursement from their insurance.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, trauma-informed, and deeply collaborative. I believe healing happens in safe, compassionate relationships, and I work to create that environment with each of my clients. I draw from a variety of evidence-based modalities that support deep healing and long-term change, especially for those navigating trauma, grief, anxiety, relational challenges and other issues.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect to feel supported, respected, and genuinely understood in our work together. I create a warm, non-judgmental environment where safety and trust come first—especially when working through trauma, grief, or relational wounds. My goal is to help clients gain insight, process painful experiences, and build practical tools for emotional regulation, communication, and connection. For children, this includes using play therapy and sand play to support emotional expression and healing in ways that feel natural and accessible. Whether you're coming as an individual, a couple, or a parent seeking support for your child, sessions are focused on fostering resilience, clarity, and deeper relationships—within yourself and with others
