Great to meet you!

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and graduate of Kean University with experience working with adults navigating grief and loss, anxiety, depression, substance use concerns, life transitions, stress and relationship challenges. My background includes working in both mental health and substance use treatment, which has shaped my belief that r have to understand what is happening underneath the symptoms- not just focus on changing them. I understand that starting therapy can feel uncomfortable, and you don't need to have everything figured out before you begin. I work to create a space where you can show up as yourself, talk openly about what's really going on, and feel supported without judgement.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, conversational, and direct when needed. I believe therapy can address serious and difficult things without having to feel serious all the time. I use humor when appropriate and work to make therapy feel human rather than overly clinical. I draw from CBT, DBT, person centered therapy, and other evidence based approaches depending on your individual needs. Together, we will look beyond the surface to understand patterns, emotions, and experiences that may be contributing to what you're going through. I'll support you, celebrate the small wins, and also challenge you when needed. My goal isn't to tell you what todo, but to help you better understand yourself and build the skills and confidence to move forward.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is really about getting to know each other. We'll talk about what brought yo to therapy, what's been going on in your life, and what you're hoping to get out of our time together. You don't need to come prepared with the "right" things to say or know exactly where to start- I'll help guide the conversation. We'll begin identifying goals while also making sure you feel comfortable and that we're a good fit. My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling heard, understood, and a little more hopeful about what comes next.
