Great to meet you!

Hi! I’m Melissa Hatton and I’m a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and board-certified music therapist (MT-BC). I’ve worked in various mental health settings for over 15 years with children, adolescents, and adults. I received my Bachelor of Music Therapy degree from Baldwin Wallace College in 2006 and my Master of Social Work degree from the University of Illinois – Urbana Champaign in 2011. With a compassionate, client-centered approach I use evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT, and ACT to address symptoms related to anxiety, depression, ADHD, grief/loss, difficulties in relationships, etc.

My approach to therapy

I strive to create a safe and supportive space for individuals to find balance, manage stress, process feelings and accomplish their goals.

What you can expect from me

In a first session I hope to gain an understanding of your main concerns, symptoms you may be experiencing and what you are seeking to work on or improve in your life.

I will provide treatment recommendations and will ask if you'd like to schedule a follow-up appointment - but there is never any pressure to schedule additional sessions right away if you're unsure about continuing care.
