Great to meet you!

I am a queer therapist and have been a licensed therapist for over a decade. I graduated with my Masters in Mental Health Counseling in 2013, and have focused my career on the intersection of eating disorder treatment and the queer community. I am passionate about my community role and am excited to meet you! I have experience working with clients who are struggling with health disabilities, chronic conditions, ADHD, OCD, end of life issues and more. I encourage you to book a session to see if we're a good fit!

My approach to therapy

I utilize three main therapeutic approaches and theories: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Internal Family Systems.

These theories have many themes in common, like mindfulness, values based living, and understanding the underlying functions and needs within someone's inner world. I focus on self compassion, shame resiliency, and feeling congruent and authentic.

What you can expect from me

The first session of any therapy is an "intake" session. This means I will explain the Informed Consent of what therapy entails, and then I will ask questions to gather information in a bio-psycho-social assessment ( a holistic assessment to gather your background medical information).

Of course, this is also a time to ask me questions and to see if you feel that I am a good fit for you! I welcome you to ask questions that can help you decide this. And I look forward to meeting you!
