Great to meet you!

Melissa Muggli, LPC, is prior service turned mental health professional. She served in the army as a combat medic from 2009-2012, with one tour in Iraq that led to her medical retirement. After her service, she worked as a medical assistant and psychiatric nurse assistant while attending university. She has an associate’s of health science, a bachelor’s of psychology focusing on addictions, a master’s of clinical mental health counseling and a master’s of addiction counseling. Melissa has been a practicing counselor since 2019 and is constantly pursuing higher education. She is a certified EAGALA provider.

My approach to therapy

Melissa practices through the lenses of DBT, CBT and existentalism. She believes that clients have the capacity to formulate their own solutions and that through the therapeutic relationship, clients can move towards their desired quality of life. Her therapeutic style is straightforward, and Melissa encourages clients to communicate with her about their experiences in therapy throughout the process. Most often, Melissa sees clients who have experienced trauma, and through partnering together, hopes to transition clients from surviving, to thriving.

What you can expect from me

The goal of therapy should be to no longer need therapy. While I do appreciate long-term clients, I also hope that you can get to a point in your life where you can deploy all of the skills we have talked about together, and manage any big emotions, behaviors thoughts that get in your way.
