Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Melissa, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Before becoming a psychiatric provider, I spent years as a registered nurse caring for people during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. I am also a foster and adoptive parent, which has given me a very personal understanding of how trauma and mental health challenges can affect the entire family. I have a special place in my heart for children, teens, and families, while welcoming individuals from all walks of life.

My approach to therapy

I want to know you, not just your diagnosis. I believe good mental health care starts with listening to what you are experiencing, what you have already tried, and what you hope will change. I will explain my recommendations, answer your questions, and work with you to create a treatment plan that feels right for you. My goal is for you to feel heard, respected, and never judged.

What you can expect from me

Our first visit is really about getting to know you and understanding what brought you in. We will talk about what you have been experiencing, your history, medications, sleep, relationships, school or work, and anything else that may be affecting how you feel. You will have plenty of time to ask questions and share what matters most to you. You don’t have to come in knowing exactly what you need...we can figure that out together.
