Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Melissa Painter, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University in 2022. My professional experience includes working in both community-based settings and private practice, where I’ve had the privilege of supporting clients from diverse backgrounds facing a wide range of challenges, including depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, and life transitions.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to each client’s unique needs. I integrate evidence-based modalities such as Schema Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy to promote lasting growth and healing. I believe therapy is a space for genuine connection, self-discovery, and empowerment—and my goal is to help you move toward a more balanced, meaningful, and fulfilling life.

What you can expect from me

From your very first session, you can expect a safe and compassionate space to share what’s been weighing on you. Together, we’ll clarify your goals, explore the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and begin building practical strategies for change. Many clients leave their first session feeling heard, understood, and more hopeful about the path forward.

As therapy continues, you can expect to gain greater self-awareness, emotional balance, and confidence in navigating life’s challenges. My goal is to help you strengthen coping skills, improve relationships, and develop a deeper sense of self-compassion so you can move toward a life that feels authentic, grounded, and fulfilling.
