Melissa Patak

After spending 25 years in the legal field, I returned to school to pursue a career in counseling and earned a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from the University of Houston – Clear Lake. My desire to go into counseling stems from my personal experience of witnessing others struggle with mental health issues. I provide individual therapy with both adolescents and adults and have worked in psychiatric hospitals, residential treatment center, and juvenile detention.

I practice using cognitive behavior therapy, solution focused, crisis intervention, and strengths based approach, all tailored to my clients’ needs.

I want my client's take away from each session to feel validated, supported and provided with the necessary resources to reduce and/or eliminate their presenting symptoms.
