Great to meet you!

For many, trauma doesn’t look obvious. It shows up as overthinking, people-pleasing, perfectionism, tension in the body, numbing behaviors, staying busy or feeling overwhelmed by closeness and connection. My name is Melissa, I am a licensed therapist and I am glad you are here.

My approach to therapy

We will focus on effectively processing emotions, cultivating deeper understandings, building skills and creating lasting change. You’ve spent a lifetime being "fine"—now let’s find out what it feels like to be free.

What you can expect from me

We’ll begin gently, at your pace. During our first session there is no pressure to dive into the hard parts right away. We’ll talk about what you’ve been experiencing, what you hope to feel through therapy and I’ll explain how we’ll work together to keep your nervous system steady through the process.
