Dr. Melissa Scollan Koliopoulos has shown exemplary leadership as a nationally and internationally recognized nurse practitioner in the areas of research, scholarship, and academia. She is board-certified by the Academy of Nurse Practitioners as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She is also board-certified by the American Nurse Credentialing Center as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Her area of expertise is the intertwining of psychosocial and mental health aspects of diabetes health and behavior.
