Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Melissa Suard, LCSW. I provide therapy for children, teens, adults, and parents, and I hold a Master’s degree in Social Work with advanced clinical training in CBT, DBT skills, and EMDR. I have experience supporting clients with anxiety, trauma, life transitions, family dynamics, emotional regulation, and performance-related stress.

I was raised in a home where therapy was often viewed as something only for the “weak,” rather than a tool for growth. We were taught to focus outward, but not always encouraged to look inward. This background shapes my belief that therapy is not about fixing what’s broken, but about building awareness, resilience, and self-understanding.

My approach to therapy

My approach is supportive, practical, and strength based. I draw from CBT, DBT skills, and EMDR to help clients manage stress, reduce negative self-talk, build emotional awareness, and improve relationships. I focus on providing tools clients can use in daily life while also creating space for insight and personal growth.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect a safe, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space. The first session focuses on understanding what brings you to therapy, identifying goals, and beginning to explore what support will be most helpful. My goal is for clients to feel heard, supported, and empowered as we begin working together.
