Dr. Melissa Sutherland

I have been a counselor for over 20 years, including as clinical director of a psychiatric facility, college counselor, private practitioner, and clinical supervisor of counseling interns. I have a master's degree in guidance and counseling and a Ph.D. in psychology. I have experience counseling in areas such as aging, grief, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, and domestic violence. I work with teens and adults of all ages.

I approach counseling from a cognitive behavioral therapy lens. Evaluating how one views events and relationships impacts how one feels and navigates their world.

Clients can expect emotional support as they set and work to achieve their individualized goals.
