Great to meet you!

My name is Melissa. I am a licensed mental health counselor and am passionate about helping those who have witnessed, lived/ currently experiencing, traumatic events. I graduated Argosy University in 2011 with a Master of Arts in Counseling; and from there I worked in the crisis field until 2020 where I began working with individuals one on one. I am culturally competent in the field of first responders and their families, as well as those who have suffered a traumatic event(s) in their lives.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I have a belief that everyone is able to heal; and feel it would be a privilege to help with and witness your healing journey. I am compassionate, open minded, empowering and able to challenge you when needed. I focus on helping clients with anxiety, depression, nightmares, feeling detached and not able to enjoy life and do so by utilizing Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Brain Spotting (BSP), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

What you can expect from our first session

In the first session we will explore what brought you into therapy. We'll talk about what your goals and expectation are and from there move forward with the best approach for you. I often use Brain spotting and EMDR to help turn the volume down from traumatic events that may have happened in life
