Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Melody and I have experience treating trauma (especially birth trauma and sexual abuse), anxiety, and depression. Sometimes anxiety and depression create a vicious cycle. Your mind is running constantly, it’s hard to sleep or take care of yourself, and it wears you out. Depression may come next – a feeling that you’ll never get out of the cycle or enjoy things again. Especially if anxiety or depression show up when you’re pregnant or postpartum, it can make the experience of parenthood completely different than you imagined. I can help. I specialize in treating anxiety and depression, especially during the peripartum period. I focus on tools and strategies that help you create a meaningful life in spite of the struggle.

My approach to therapy

I have experience treating trauma (especially birth trauma and sexual abuse), anxiety, and depression. I work with individuals and couples to learn healthier ways to relate when trauma or mental health struggles get in the way. I use treatments like Cognitive Processing Therapy and Prolonged Exposure to help you move past the places where you've been stuck.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, we will get to know each other and set goals for our work together. I'll try to "get it" the best I can so that I can offer support and practical tools to help you with whatever you're facing. You'll leave with a clear sense of where we're headed, and hopefully feeling a little lighter and less alone.
