Great to meet you!

Reaching out to schedule your first session can be overwhelming and sometimes intimidating. My goal is to make it simple, easy and not complicated. I have over 18 years' experience in the Social Work field. I have worked in community mental health in a multitude of roles serving people from all walks of life. I have my Master of Social Work from West Virginia University.

My approach to therapy

My therapeutic approach is grounded in meeting you where you are, creating a safe and nonjudgmental space where you can explore your experiences, emotions, and challenges. I draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to shift unhelpful thought patterns, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to build skills for managing intense emotions, and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) to help you stay present and grounded. I'll work collaboratively with you to better understand your thoughts and feelings, identify your strengths, and develop meaningful goals. Together, we'll create an individualized treatment plan that reflects your needs, values, and readiness for change. Therapy here is a genuine partnership: you take an active role in your healing while I provide support, guidance, and tools that actually work.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is yours to set the pace. You don't need to have it all figured out before we meet. I'll start by listening: to what brought you here, what's been hard, and what you're hoping life could look like. We'll talk through what working together would look like, cover the basics of confidentiality and scheduling, and make sure you feel comfortable before we go deeper. Most people tell me they leave that first conversation feeling heard and a little lighter. That's exactly what I'm going for.
