Great to meet you!

I am a dedicated, experienced and compassionate Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC-S) and Registered Play Therapist (RPT) who maintains an EMDR Certified Practitioner Credential. In addition, I am a retired Elementary School Teacher, former Parents As Teachers - Parent Educator, and trained School Counselor with an inactive Missouri certification. My capstone mission is to support the healthy development of children and their families; extending this to include the inner-child residing in all adults. Therefore, I devote my attention to caring for individuals and couples of all ages and backgrounds.

My approach to therapy

I maintain an Adlerian Theoretical Perspective, and lean heavily into the teachings of Attachment Theory, Neuropsychology and the Autonomic Impact of Trauma. As an EMDR Certified Therapist, trained by the Trauma Institute and Child Trauma Institute, I practice trauma-informed care. I possess strong communication and interpersonal skills coupled with a genuine desire to empower clients through creative expression, connection and resiliency.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, you can expect a conversation where you get to come as you are and speak freely. As you share your heart and mind with me, I will gain a thorough understanding of your motivation and goals for a therapeutic partnership. I will learn about your family, past and present, as well. Together, we will make a plan for your care, and in most cases we will begin your treatment plan immediately.
