Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Mercedes Harrison, and I believe therapy should be more than just talking about what’s going on—it should help you understand yourself, recognize patterns, and feel more equipped to move forward.

Do you ever leave therapy feeling like you talked a lot, but still aren’t fully sure what you’re working on or how to actually move forward? Many people know they’re struggling but have a hard time putting words to their emotions, recognizing patterns, or understanding why they keep getting stuck in the same cycles.

My approach to therapy

In my work with clients, I believe therapy can feel more meaningful when you’re able to actually see, organize, and make sense of what you’re experiencing. My goal is for you to leave each session with tangible tools, practical insight, and personalized resources that you can continue using and reflecting on outside of therapy.

I want therapy to be a space where you not only feel heard, but also gain clarity, understanding, and tools that support you in creating meaningful change.

What you can expect from me

In your first session, you can expect a welcoming, structured, and collaborative experience. We’ll begin by getting to know you, understanding what brings you to therapy, and identifying the concerns or patterns you would like to work on. Together, we’ll begin clarifying your goals and what you hope to get from therapy.

Because I believe therapy should be practical and meaningful, I’ll also begin introducing ways to organize and understand what you’re experiencing. Depending on your needs, this may include visuals, questions, worksheets, or other tools to help you gain clarity and identify patterns.

You won’t be expected to have everything figured out during the first session. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, understood, and with a clearer sense of where we can begin. You may also leave with a practical resource, reflection activity, or small step to work on between sessions.
