Great to meet you!

Hello, I’m Mercy — and I’m glad you’re here.

Life is a lifelong journey filled with growth, challenges, and unexpected moments. While we all face difficulties at times, we don’t have to navigate them alone. Reaching out for support is a powerful step, and I am honored to walk alongside you as you work toward clarity, healing, and emotional balance. You have the power to ease the pain associated with this journey through understanding when help is needed, seeking the help, and being open to accepting the support.

My approach to therapy

My therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, and grounded in compassion. I create a safe, nonjudgmental environment where you can feel seen, heard, and understood. I use:

Supportive counseling (empathy, active listening, gentle guidance).

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help shift unhelpful thoughts and patterns.

Solution-Focused strategies to build strengths and create practical change.

I applied Psychoeducation to help you understand yourself, your emotions, and your relationships.

My goal is to help you gain insight, build resilience, and make meaningful progress toward emotional wellness.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Colorado and my master’s degree in counseling with a specialization in Marriage, Family, and Child Therapy from the University of Phoenix in 2012.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in both Colorado and Arizona.

Across my clinical career, I’ve worked in:

Residential treatment settings

Community mental health centers

Department of Corrections

Private practice

This experience gives me a strong foundation in addressing a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and relational concerns.

I am also committed to lifelong learning and regularly engage in advanced training to enhance my skills and support my clients more effectively.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is centered on understanding you as a whole person — your story, your goals, your strengths, and what brings you to therapy.

We will explore the areas you want to focus on, clarify what support looks like for you, and begin mapping out a plan for your therapeutic journey.

You can expect a space that is:

Warm

Respectful

Culturally attuned

Humor-friendly

Honest

Rooted in partnership

My role is not to judge, but to walk with you, challenge negative thoughts when needed, and support you in creating a brighter, healthier future.

I specialize in helping individuals, couples, and families navigate:

Relationship and family challenges

Multicultural and diversity-related issues

Grief and bereavement

Depression and anxiety

Anger management

Spirituality and faith-related concerns

Parenting challenges

Life transitions and emotional wellness

I also have extensive postgraduate training in addictions and enjoy supporting clients through recovery, identity rebuilding, and emotional growth.

If you're ready to take the next step on your journey, I would be honored to support you along the way. Let's work together to create a brighter future.
