Great to meet you!

Hi there — I’m Mere Abrams, a queer, trans therapist with over a decade of experience supporting LGBTQIA+ youth, young adults, and adults, as well as their parents, caregivers, and family members. I specialize in creating intentional, nonjudgmental, and affirming spaces where clients can ask questions, process experiences, build coping skills, and feel more grounded in their values and sense of self. I support clients in recognizing and breaking patterns, building resilience and confidence, and fostering a deeper understanding and connection with self and others.

My approach to therapy

I bring both lived experience and professional expertise to my work, which allows me to build trust and connect with clients. Over the past decade, I have gained expansive knowledge on the topics of sexuality, gender, gender-affirming care, and healthcare navigation. I create intentional, safe, affirming environments for LGBTQIA+ individuals and those questioning aspects of identity. I previously worked in mental health, medical, and community-based settings supporting trans and non-binary youth and adults, and have published and presented widely on gender and gender-inclusive care. I am skilled at helping clients recognize patterns, tap into resilience, and build coping tools that support long-term healing and growth.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we’ll slow down and focus on what feels most important to you. I’ll ask questions to better understand your history, your goals, and what you’d like to get out of therapy. You can expect a nonjudgmental, collaborative space where your voice and experiences guide the process. We’ll also discuss next steps so you leave with a clear sense of direction.
