Great to meet you!

My name is Meredith Ximines-Mullings, and I am a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with a Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University. I provide mental health for all ages including children and adolescents, adults and seniors. I've intensive experiences in managing acute care and routine needs.

My primary clinical areas include anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADD/ADHD, alcohol and substance use, and child and adolescent mental health. I also work with clients navigating depression, PTSD, trauma, grief and loss, anger management, panic disorders, sleep difficulties, stress, and family concerns.

Whether I am working with a child navigating emotional or behavioral challenges, a teenager struggling with mood or substance use, or an adult seeking support through life's hardships, my commitment is the same: to provide care that is thorough, compassionate, and genuinely tailored to the individual.

My approach to therapy

My approach is relational, evidence-based, and adapted to the age, needs, and goals of each person I work with.

I use Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT) to help clients understand and improve the relationships and life circumstances that are contributing to their distress. IPT is particularly effective for depression, grief, major life transitions, and the interpersonal challenges that often accompany mood disorders and family conflict — and it translates well across age groups, from adolescents navigating identity and peer relationships to adults managing loss or relationship strain.

I draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and shift the thought patterns and behaviors driving anxiety, PTSD, panic, and mood instability — providing structured, practical tools that build real change over time.

I use Motivational Interviewing to meet clients — especially those dealing with substance use or ambivalence about treatment — where they are. This approach respects each person's autonomy and helps them connect with their own genuine reasons and readiness for change.

For children and adolescents, I bring particular attention to developmental context, family dynamics, and the pressures of school and social life — because what's happening around a young person matters enormously to what's happening within them.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, I want every client — regardless of age — to feel that they've come to a safe place.

We'll begin by talking about what's brought you in and what you've been experiencing. For children and families, I'll make space for both the young person and their caregivers to share their perspectives — because the full picture requires both. For adult clients, I'll ask about history, current challenges, and what you're hoping our work together might help you achieve.

I'll listen carefully and ask thoughtful questions — not to evaluate or judge, but to understand. By the end of our first session, we'll have begun to build a plan: what we're working toward, which approaches fit best, and what to expect going forward.

Medication options will be discussed openly and collaboratively where appropriate. Every decision moves forward with your understanding and agreement.

Whatever has brought you here — for yourself or for someone you love — you've taken an important step. I'm glad you did, and I'm here to help.
