Great to meet you!

My name is Merian Carter and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I obtained my Masters Degree from Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA. I enjoy fishing in my spare time along with spending time with my children. My therapeutic modality consist of Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Person Centered Therapy. My motto is "Changing Lives One Day at a Time."

My approach to therapy

As a clinician, I allow my clients' space to process their thoughts and feelings. I assist them with identifying tools that will increase their self-awareness. Additionally my goal is to help clients identify and process a healthier thinking pattern. I enjoy working with clients who have challenges with addiction and other mental health disorders.

What you can expect from me

I always start with an introductory session, where you’ll have the opportunity to share your story and what you hope to achieve in therapy. We’ll work together to figure this out! I strive to create a warm, welcoming environment that allows you to feel comfortable sharing and being vulnerable, while also feeling secure. From there, we’ll work together in the sessions that follow to make these goals a reality for you.
