Great to meet you!

My name is Micaela Gordon, and I am a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC) with over 16 years of experience in the medical field. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree from the University of the West Indies in Jamaica, my FNP degree from Chamberlain University, and recently completed my Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) training at Wilkes University. I have worked in a variety of healthcare settings, particularly in primary care and with the veteran population, providing care across the lifespan, including DOT physicals. I take a warm, practical, and solution-focused approach to patient care, with an emphasis on listening to patients and working together to improve their overall health and well-being.

My approach to therapy

I take a patient-centered and collaborative approach, creating a safe space where clients feel heard and supported. My style is practical and solution-focused, combining my experience in primary care and mental health to address the whole person. I work with patients across the lifespan, including veterans, and focus on helping individuals manage concerns such as anxiety, depression, stress, and sleep issues through evidence-based and personalized care.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, clients can expect a welcoming and supportive environment where we take the time to get to know each other. I will ask about their medical history, mental health, current concerns, and goals, and I’ll listen carefully to understand their unique situation. Together, we’ll identify priorities and discuss a plan for moving forward, whether that includes treatment options, coping strategies, or referrals. The goal is to make clients feel heard, understood, and actively involved in their care from the very beginning.
