I'm Micaela Pericone-Kapp, a Doctor of Nursing Practice specializing as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. passionate about providing advanced care for individuals with ADHD, OCD, PTSD and trauma, personality disorders, depression, anxiety, panic disorders, mood disorders, and bipolar conditions. My doctoral-level training enables me to provide sophisticated, evidence-based treatment for complex mental health challenges.

I chose to specialize in these areas because I understand how these conditions can profoundly impact every aspect of your life, often in ways that feel overwhelming or isolating. Whether you're struggling with ADHD symptoms that affect your work performance, OCD rituals that consume your time and energy, trauma responses that interfere with relationships, or personality patterns that create ongoing difficulties, I bring the advanced knowledge needed to provide effective, compassionate care.

My treatment philosophy centers on understanding you as a complete person, not just a collection of symptoms. I recognize that mental health conditions don't exist in isolation—they interact with your life experiences, relationships, cultural background, and personal goals in unique ways. My approach combines cutting-edge psychiatric interventions with deep respect for your individual journey and values.

You can expect thorough assessment, personalized treatment planning, and ongoing support throughout our work together. I provide a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore freely and create lasting change.

My approach to therapy

Meaningful mental health care brings together clinical expertise and genuine compassion — professional knowledge grounded in deep respect for human dignity. My approach is built on collaboration, evidence-based practice, and a steadfast dedication to honoring exactly who you are.

You are the authority on your own life. I contribute professional training to support your wellness goals but will never impose treatments or guide you toward choices that feel misaligned. Together, we assess options, weigh benefits and risks, and identify directions that authentically reflect your values, needs, and personal circumstances.

My practice is trauma-informed, acknowledging how past experiences shape the challenges you face today. I create a space where you feel genuinely safe, valued, and empowered. Mindful of power dynamics, I intentionally share decision-making with you — your perspective matters, your concerns carry real weight, and your autonomy is never compromised.

I draw from a wide range of treatment approaches. With extensive psychopharmacology training, I recommend medications when they provide genuine benefit, while remaining equally devoted to supportive techniques, lifestyle modifications, and strengthening the capabilities you already possess. We explore how sleep, exercise, nutrition, relationships, and purpose shape your emotional health — attending to the whole person rather than targeting symptoms in isolation.

I practice culturally responsive care, recognizing that mental wellness and healing take different forms across diverse cultures and communities. I am committed to learning about your background and appreciating how it shapes your unique path forward.

Together, we will build a journey rooted in warmth and authentic partnership — from the very first moment you reach out through every step that follows. Your courage in taking this first step reflects real strength, and I am wholly committed to you from day one.

What you can expect from me

From our very first session, I work to build a genuine partnership that empowers you and inspires real hope. You can expect a thorough psychiatric evaluation and evidence-based medication management tailored specifically to your needs.

I help you understand your experiences by connecting symptoms to brain science in ways that bring clarity and reduce distress. You will receive comprehensive information about treatment options so you can make truly informed decisions. We will discuss medications openly — how they work, expected benefits, possible side effects, and realistic timelines for improvement. I will be honest about expectations while maintaining genuine optimism about what is possible. Understanding the science behind your symptoms can be profoundly validating, and I ensure that knowledge feels accessible and empowering rather than overwhelming.

My approach also equips you with practical tools for daily mental health management — techniques for anxiety, strategies for motivation, approaches for better sleep, and skills for emotional regulation. I will help you recognize your patterns and triggers so you can be proactive rather than reactive in managing your symptoms.

You can count on honest, caring feedback throughout our work together. I will celebrate your progress and explore challenges without judgment, helping you build lasting confidence in navigating mental health difficulties. I will also support you in communicating your needs with family, friends, and other healthcare providers, coordinating with your care team when beneficial. No one should navigate mental health in isolation, and I am committed to ensuring you never feel alone in this process.

Most importantly, you will always leave feeling seen, validated, and empowered — with renewed hope and the assurance of a dedicated partner walking with you every step forward. That partnership starts now, and I am honored to be part of your journey.
