Great to meet you!

I spent nearly 5 years working in the substance abuse treatment field, in a variety of different positions, and found my passion for helping people there. I completed my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Troy University in Montgomery. My clinical training for my master’s program began at an intensive inpatient behavioral healthcare facility for children aged 12–18 who were in DHR custody and subsequently in a private practice counseling setting.

I specialize in depression, anxiety, substance abuse and addictions counseling, and trauma counseling. My philosophy of counseling is based around the simple idea that every individual deserves to live a happy, healthy and whole life. A little help in counseling has the potential to go a long way to living happy, healthy, and whole.

My approach to therapy

There’s enough negativity in the world and I believe that most individuals who seek out professional counseling likely don’t want to pile on the negativity in a counseling session. My approach to counseling is focused on person-centered therapy, which aims to allow you to be the best version of yourself. A problem shared is problem cut in half.

What you can expect from me

I am a person-centered counselor and one of my main goals is to help my clients develop healthier relationships with the people in their lives. My foundation in counseling is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and I aim to provide practical tools for all of my clients to be able to use outside of my office.
