Great to meet you!

With roots in filmmaking, community organizing, and social work research, I bring creativity, curiosity, and real-world understanding to therapy. I have also worked in academia and volunteered as an EMT. I believe this diverse background allows me to connect with people from many different walks of life and to approach clinical work with nuance and care.

Before starting my private practice, I spent several years working across multiple group practice settings. During that time, I supported individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, loneliness, relationship concerns, men’s issues, and political or societal stressors. This breadth of experience continues to guide how I think about emotional health and human resilience.

I draw from evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and EMDR, integrating these approaches in a way that reflects each client’s unique needs and context. My work is grounded in helping people better understand their inner experiences while developing healthier ways of relating to themselves and others.

I offer both in-person sessions in Manhattan and virtual therapy across New York State.

My approach to therapy

I view therapy as a process of both understanding and transformation. In our first few sessions, we focus on getting a clear sense of what’s bringing you in—what’s been working, what hasn’t, and what you most want to change. I’ll ask about your history, current stressors, and the challenges in your environment, but always at your pace. Together, we define what progress will look like for you.

Once we’ve established a shared understanding of your goals, I tailor our work using evidence-based approaches like CBT, ACT, and EMDR. For some clients, this means learning concrete tools for managing anxiety, improving communication, or setting boundaries. For others, the work centers on understanding the deeper emotional patterns that underlie distress—grief, trauma, shame, or the feeling of being “stuck.”

Throughout the process, I check in regularly to make sure therapy feels useful and aligned with what you need. I encourage open feedback and treat therapy as a living, evolving collaboration. While structure and strategy matter, so does the quality of our connection—it’s often through that relationship that real healing happens.

Over time, clients begin to notice shifts: clearer self-understanding, stronger emotional regulation, and a greater sense of agency in their lives. My goal is to help you leave therapy not just with insight, but with practical tools and a deeper confidence in navigating life’s challenges long after our work together ends.

What you can expect from me

The first session is a space to slow down and start understanding what’s been happening in your life and what you hope to gain from therapy. I view this meeting as a collaborative conversation rather than an interview—you guide the discussion, and together we focus on what feels most important right now.

We’ll talk about what brings you in, what’s been helpful or difficult, and what change might look like. I’ll explain how I work and answer any questions so you leave with a sense of clarity and direction. My goal is for you to feel both heard and grounded by the end of our time together.

Because therapy looks different for everyone, we’ll discuss what approach best suits your needs—whether you prefer structure and practical tools or a more open, exploratory style. I draw from CBT, ACT, and EMDR, integrating each to support your goals and rhythm of progress.

By the close of our first meeting, you’ll have a clearer picture of what therapy with me can offer: a compassionate, collaborative space to make sense of your experiences, strengthen coping strategies, and begin meaningful, lasting change.
