Great to meet you!

Hello, my name is Mike Caltzontzint and I am a licensed board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. My interest in mental health began after serving 5 years in the United States Marine Corps from 2004-2009. I began to understand the stigma surrounding mental health and its impact on military veterans as well as many Americans in the general population. This led me to pursue a career in nursing. I graduated from The University of Texas in Austin with my bachelors degree and later returned to complete my masters degree at UT Health Science Center in Houston.

As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner I am trained and qualified to diagnose and treat various psychiatric disorders to patients across the life span. In addition, my personal military experience has contributed to a special interest in treating military veterans with PTSD.

My approach to therapy

It’s important to me that we communicate openly and you feel respected in our relationship. I’ll be there to listen to you, challenge you, and support you along the way.

What you can expect from me

I always start with an introductory session, where you’ll have the opportunity to share your story and what you hope to achieve with psychiatric treatment. We’ll work together to figure this out! I strive to create a warm, welcoming environment that allows you to feel comfortable sharing and being vulnerable, while also feeling secure. From there, we’ll work together in the sessions that follow to make these goals a reality for you.
