Great to meet you!

Hello, my name is Michael Chavez, LCSW, and I provide individual therapy to adults facing a variety of challenges, including anxiety, depression, work related stress, and relationship issues. I understand how tough life can be. Before I became a therapist, I went through my own challenges — unhoused, unemployed, and struggling with substance use. Getting sober and working my way through college wasn’t easy, but it shaped the way I show up for others now: with understanding, patience, and zero judgment.

My approach to therapy

I use a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach. Sometimes we have to let go of negative thoughts and replace them with healthy ones. CBT focuses on the connection between our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. In sessions, I help clients manage difficult emotions.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, I will focus on building a strong therapeutic alliance. I take time to listen carefully to your concerns, gain an understanding of your goals, and begin identifying the challenges you'd like to address. Together, we will begin developing a personalized treatment plan that aligns with your needs and supports meaningful progress.
